Job Description

The lifeguard will ensure all water activities at the waterfront are done safely and according to the training he or she has received. The lifeguard will be in charge of making sure that the area is fully equipped and that safety equipment is present. 

Responsible to: Assistant Director

Job details

Wage/Salary: $5,120.00

Duration: 8 Weeks | June 28, 2026

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect safety equipment
  • Ensure all campers and staff understand and abide by waterfront rules, policies and practices.
  • Supervise swim time.
  • Correct and discipline individuals who are endangering themselves or others
  • Use life-saving training as required
  • Educate swimmers regarding safe swim practices
  • Report all injuries, disciplinary actions, and all safety issues.
Qualifications
  • Lifeguards must hold a current NL certification (preferably with a Waterfront Option), Standard First Aid certification or equivalent and CPR.
