Job Description

To provide strategic oversight, financial monitoring, and logistical support for the $2.5M New Dining Hall and Kitchen Project (2027–2028), ensuring the facility is constructed on time, within budget, and successfully addresses the camp’s need for year-round service and 250-person capacity.

Time Commitment:

  • Monthly Meetings until Project completion in 2028.
  • 3-10 Hours/month

Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Committee Member will focus on mitigating the key issues of fundraising, expense inflation, and county approval:

  • Financial Oversight & Fundraising: Actively support the Executive Director in tracking and meeting the $2.2 – 2.5M fundraising goal by the end of 2028. Monitor construction costs and material inflation to proactively advise on potential budget overruns.
  • Project Management & Logistics: Serve as a key liaison with the contractor and Axiom Architecture. Help manage logistical challenges related to the central location, site demolition, and the preservation/salvaging of the old laminated trusses.
  • Compliance & Approvals: Assist in securing necessary County Approval for the demolition and new 10,000 sq ft building construction, ensuring all planning adheres to regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with the Board of Directors and project stakeholders regarding progress, financing, and scheduling risks.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strengths that directly address one or more of the project’s complex financial and construction needs and be aligned well with the organization’s purpose and vision.

  • Financial or Fundraising Expertise: Proven experience in capital campaign support, budget management, or construction cost analysis.
  • Construction/Logistics Acumen: Familiarity with large-scale construction projects, scheduling, and vendor management (an asset, but not required).
  • Strategic Oversight: Ability to monitor complex schedules and funding targets simultaneously.
  • Alignment: Passion for the camp’s mission and belief that the new facility will significantly expand year-round ministry impact.
