For God is Good
January 27th, 2022
Dear Prayer Team!
It is almost unbelievable we are nearing the end of the first month of 2022. For me, this new year has brought a perspective of excitement with it!
I would love to always qualify myself as an optimist; however, as many of you know and have experienced, that has been more complex the last few years. Alas, here I am, at the beginning of a new year with hope for a future better than the one today!
I am filled with hope for summer camp, for the children that we do not yet know by name, or the new friends we will get to meet! I cannot help but be optimistic with that in my heart.
I recently listened to a podcast, and it defined hope as this. To place care and intention on the generations to come after you is the most significant expression of hope for a better tomorrow. These words have resonated with me.
This has helped me read and reflect on scripture with a fresh and optimistic perspective. To read through scripture, I am reminded of the degree of hope we can muster because of who God is.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. . . . By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was was not made out of things that are visible.”
Hebrews 11:1–3
So friends, may we have hope this week, for God is good all the time!
