James 5:6
I love how James connects the idea about our prayer life and being right with God. He tells us to address our sins with one another, talk about them. I have to admit that makes me a little nervous. But then he points out that “the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” Confessing our sins to one another is worth it. It’s uncomfortable, it is hard, it is weird, and it is really really good! There are such incredible things that come as a result of our prayers when we are aligned well with God! So keep confessing, don’t think you are ever done. Get comfortable in confession!
Prayer Requests
- Would you pray for our health care providers? I’ve heard many stories of multiple people from the same family dying from COVID within days of each other. Doctors, nurses and other health care providers are living this every day and the toll on them is extreme. Pray for emotional and physical strength.
- It is also devastating to families. People losing a spouse and then a parent or child is awful. Let’s pray that the remaining family members will be comforted well and that God will show his goodness to all.
- Let’s pray for government leaders. The difficulty of navigating our current crisis is extremely demanding. They need wisdom and dersment and I believe they need God’s guidance. Pray for integrity, character, and wisdom for all government leaders.
Thank you for your prayers. I encourage you to find a friend this week and confess your sins to one another! Remember, there is no ministry apart from Christ. Pray with urgency and expectation. I will chat with you next week.
