Read | Peace Be With You
Peace – it seems kind of illusive. I don’t have a lot of peace right now. There are many broken relationships around me, many hurting people. I see many who are physically ill, mentally and emotionally exhausted, and then I am reminded that Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
John 20:21
What I find interesting is the way Jesus says the first sentence, “Peace be with you.” Peace is not an offer or a thing to attain. Jesus is creating peace or more accurately, Jesus is creating peace within his disciples. Jesus is declaring something and setting in motion what is necessary for peace within each person he was speaking to. “Peace be with you.” as much as it is a statement of creation, of change, a declaration of a new existence. Jesus is establishing a new relationship. “Peace be with you.” The Holy Spirit, who is peace, be with you! There is a lot of chaos in our world and there will continue to be. Listen to John 20:21 one more time.
Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”

Prayer Requests
We have made some significant decisions and changes to our summer this year. In an attempt to open our doors for the summer we will be opening up our facility for campground bookings in the months of June and July. All overnight summer camp sessions will be in the month of August. We are excited that we can serve many in this way and trust that God will work powerfully this summer! God is good, and this summer will be filled with his goodness!
The second thing you can be praying for is this. Like many, the directors (Keith, Bradon, Jason and myself) are tired. There has been a tremendous amount of work and in many ways, we are going into summer on empty. Pray that God will give us moments to be refreshed and energized.
Finally, congrats to Emmett and Anita, two of our seasonal staff who just got married. They were married this past Saturday and are currently on their honeymoon. It’s never too early to pray for that peace I referenced earlier. Seriously, working at camp as newlyweds is pretty awesome but will come with its challenges. They are leading the Leadership Investment Program, now called Elevate. Pray for Emmett and Anita, as they navigate the first few months of marriage at camp.
I am so grateful for your prayers. Would you do me a favour? Would you invite others to join our prayer team? You can send them a Facebook group invite or send them a link to receive the weekly email. I would really appreciate you doing that. Remember, there is no ministry apart from Christ. Pray with Urgency and expectation. I will chat with you next week.
