Read | Yesterday, Today and Forever
Over the past while, I have been hearing stories from adults. Some in their 40’s all the way past into their 70’s and 80’s. The stories seem to be a common experience of the beginnings of their faith journey. What has been exciting for me to hear is that Covenant Bay has been the place where these shared experiences have occurred, baptisms, making a decision to follow Jesus, rededicating their life to Jesus, and a commitment to service.
Hearing about these significant faith mile markers for others has given me a lot of joy. God is so good and I understand that his desire for each of us hasn’t changed. What he wanted for people in the past is the same as what he desires for us today. He wants all of us to be in a deep growing relationship with him. While our world has changed a lot our God has not. Neither has his greatest hopes for us.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
What makes me even more excited is that in 30, 40, 50 years from now. Covenant Bay’s leadership will continue to hear stories about this same common experience except it is unfolding right now. Praise God, that he doesn’t change!
- Tomorrow, family camp begins. We have a lot of people joining us and are thrilled that we can host so many. Pray for a great weekend together and that we will all grow closer to Jesus Christ as a result!
- September 11 is the date of our Annual Fundraising Dinner. We are beginning preparations. Pray for a great turnout and that we are able to raise the necessary funds.
- Finally, pray that many campers will experience the fullness of God’s love for them and will make important decisions in their faith journey.
Thanks for praying with me. I am humbled that so many take the time to pray. As you do pray remember there is no ministry apart from Christ. Pray with urgency and expectation. I will chat with you next week.
