Job Description

The Youth Engagement Worker is a multi-dimensional role designed for individuals aged 18–25 who are seeking to discern God’s calling while gaining hands-on experience in ministry and community service. This position operates on a “Power of Thirds” model, splitting time between local church youth ministry, community-based youth initiatives, and intensive leadership development.

As an employee of Covenant Bay Bible Camp, you will serve as a bridge-builder—connecting the local church to the community and helping young people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

Duties & Responsibilities

Church Youth Support (33%)

  • Assist 1–2 partner churches in facilitating and strengthening their existing youth programs.
  • Build intentional, discipling relationships with junior high and high school students.
  • Collaborate with local youth pastors and volunteer teams to execute weekly programs and special events.
  • Provide 8–12 hours of weekly “on-the-ground” presence within a specific church context.

Community Outreach & Engagement (33%)

  • Represent Covenant Bay and the local church in “neutral” community spaces.
  • Volunteer within local schools, sports organizations, or other youth initiatives.
  • Identify and meet tangible needs within the community to build trust and rapport with unchurched youth.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor in community-run programs.

Leadership & Personal Development (33%)

  • Participate in weekly workshops, seminars, and curated reading assignments.
  • Engage in regular one-on-one mentoring sessions with the Executive Director and guest ministry experts.
  • Develop practical skills in communication, program planning, and theological reflection.
  • Actively participate in the CBBC staff culture and spiritual life.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma (minimum).
  • Age: 18–25 years old.

 

Working Conditions

Interns will be working within a variety of locations and settings, including Covenant Bay, churches, schools, and other community facilities. Interns will be provided via local community billets.
