Job Description

Trustees are general board members who do not hold an executive position. They are responsible for attending meetings, participating in discussions, and voting on board matters.

Responsible to: The CBBC Membership and the CBBC Board.

Job details

Duration: 3 year term

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Attends all regularly scheduled board meetings.
  • Participates in the discussion and deliberation of board matters.
  • Can make motions, discuss, and vote on all matters before the board.
  • Often volunteers to serve as the head of or as a member of board committees.
  • Provides guidance and insight into the overall governance and strategic direction of the camp.
Qualifications

A strong commitment to the mission of Covenant Bay Bible Camp and a willingness to serve and contribute to the governance of the organization. No specific financial or administrative background is required, but a diversity of skills and experiences is highly valued.

Working Conditions
  • Board meetings are held every other month.
  • Meetings will be held either in person or via video chat.
  • Board members will be expected to drive to and from board meetings.
  • The position is a volunteer role that requires attendance at board meetings. The time commitment will vary depending on committee involvement.
Training

New board members are provided with orientation to the board’s policies and procedures. An annual leadership retreat will be held for the purpose of planning and training. Board members will be given opportunities to become better leaders and board members through reading, events, and other means of learning.
